Occupational Safety at Enterprises in Conditions of Martial Law
Abstract
The concept of labor protection encompasses not only ensuring the safety of workers during the performance of their duties but also various measures, including the prevention of occupational diseases, organizing adequate rest and nutrition for workers during work breaks, providing them with necessary workwear and hygiene products, and even fulfilling social benefits and guarantees.
The Basic Law of our state declares in Article 1 that Ukraine is a sovereign and independent, democratic, social, and legal state. The rights and freedoms of the individual and their guarantees determine the content and direction of the state's activities, and the affirmation and ensuring of the rights and freedoms of the individual are the main duty of the state (Article 3 of the Constitution of Ukraine), constituting the most important socio-political and legal institution.
In conditions of martial law, labor protection in enterprises becomes particularly relevant and requires special approaches and measures to ensure the safety of workers. Military conflicts and security threats can create danger not only for the civilian population but also for enterprises, their personnel, and infrastructure.
In this context, risk assessment, development of emergency plans, employee training, physical safety, and psychological support become of particular importance. The effectiveness and success of the measures taken will depend on the readiness and ability of enterprises to respond to danger in a timely manner, minimize risks, and ensure the safety of workers during martial law.
