Managing Risks in Implementing Innovative Projects and Startups in Modern Conditions

Abstract

The issue of building an innovative ecosystem has always been relevant. In recent decades, this process has transformed into the development of a startup ecosystem, which has become the de facto standard in leading universities worldwide. While for centuries, industrial enterprises collaborating with academic institutions and universities were the main drivers of innovation development, in recent decades, universities have become the main drivers, possessing a huge resource of motivated young people and experienced scientists who, during the educational process, involve talented youth in scientific research and solving tasks from stakeholders. Such a model effectively operates in the conditions of a developed innovative startup ecosystem, where large corporations, future "Unicorns" with capitalization exceeding a billion dollars, start their journey from student benches and small startup teams working in conditions of uncertainty and risks.
