Transformation of the Space Economy in the Context of Sustainable Development of Countries

Authors

Abstract

Today, as globalized society suffers from pandemics, hunger, economic inequality, irrational use of natural resources, climate change, urbanization, military conflicts, and hybrid threats, achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) becomes extremely relevant. An important instrument for this is the exploration and use of outer space. Therefore, the long-term sustainability of such activities should be the subject of joint efforts by both mature participants and "newcomers."

The aim of this scientific article is to substantiate the need for transformative processes in the space economy in the context of countries' sustainable development.

To achieve this goal, the following tasks are set: to identify the main stakeholders involved in the issues of sustainable space utilization and their main forms of interaction; to clarify the essence and main challenges of such activities to contemporary globalized society; to determine the main directions for ensuring the sustainable development of space activities.
