Justification of the expediency of using technogenically disturbed lands of mining regions
Abstract
Environmental processes of using technogenically disturbed lands are a relevant issue in the modern world. Technogenic land disturbances arise from industrial, transportation, and infrastructure activities such as mining, agricultural work, mass construction, and other economic activities.
Changes in soil occur due to contamination by chemicals that enter groundwater and affect its physicochemical properties. This can lead to a decrease in soil fertility and disruption of its ecological balance.
Water resources are also negatively affected by contamination with various toxic substances that enter water ecosystems through industrial discharges, agricultural waste, and other sources of pollution. This can lead to the death of fish and other aquatic organisms, deterioration of water quality, and disruption of the natural balance in the ecosystem.
Vegetation on technogenically disturbed lands usually deteriorates due to unfavorable conditions for growth and soil contamination. The application of reclamation technologies and restoration of disturbed areas can be an important step in restoring vegetation cover and the natural environment.
